For many of us, the past month has been a difficult one. We are now struggling to find a road map forward into an uncertain future, and to heal the divide between neighbors, family members and colleagues who voted differently than we did. At the same time, this is a busy season for all of us both professionally and personally. As I met with each of our units over the last few months, I heard from our membership throughout the chapter that business is up, with many referrals coming through internet searches or through the ALCA website. At the national level, our association has continued to promote our profession through media outreach. At the local level, our membership is making connections with local chapters of NASW, AARP and NAELA.

At our most recent board retreat, we decided to offer full scholarships to our chapter conference to anyone serving on the board, or as conference co-chairs, and half scholarships to anyone serving as unit leader/co-leader or chair of a committee. We encourage you to become more active in our chapter—by serving on a committee or considering a leadership role and welcome your participation in the planning of our 2017 conference. Please watch for the announcement of the 2017 proposed slate for officers and members of our chapter board and send in your vote!

SAVE THE DATE NOW FOR THE 2017 MIDATLANTIC ALCA CONFERENCE, OCTOBER 22 & 23 AT THE HUNT VALLEY INN OUTSIDE OF BALTIMORE!!!

In this season of Thanksgiving, we all have much to be thankful for. We have the support of amazing colleagues throughout the chapter, and the blessings (and challenges!) of our work providing care management support to our clients, and their families, who rely on our compassion, expertise and hard work every day. Wishing each of you a very happy Holiday Season!
