Member Spotlight – Christine Meyers

Please welcome Christine (Loos) Meyers of Berks Encore in Berks County, PA.

Christine has worked with the aging population her entire career, including Older Adult Protective Services, Adult Day Care, Office of Aging Care Management, Family Caregiver Support Program, Home Health Care, Senior Centers, and Activities.  She credits “the best grandparents anyone could ever ask for, and as a result, I have had a heart for seniors.”

She works for Berks Encore. Berks Encore is a nonprofit leader of senior services in Berks County. Their services offer support for the community’s older adults and seniors without compromising their independence. Through advocacy, education and referrals, they develop aging-confident individuals to enhance their ability to live well later in life.

In joining ALCA, Christine hopes to “gain a relationship with a team of folks working for the same goal as I am.  I hope to gain access to additional resources and information that can help my clients. I also hope to be a resource for others.”

Christine reports she is passionate about senior’s rights, as well as providing education on resources that people may not have access to or know about.

She speaks conversational Spanish, saying, “however I can translate it and read it much better than I speak it.”

When asked about how she enjoys her free time, Christine reports she has five teenage boys, so there isn’t much free time. When there is, she enjoys reading, painting, and singing.
